Can't wait for the inevitable SKAMODE

The only mid songs here are Soft Living and Life Admin, I’d say those are both 3/5 and then everything else is at least a 3.5

this is my favourite turnover album

“It’s a collection of songs rather than a unified statement.“
oh no

Unpopular opinion, but Jeff has been on a continued downward trajectory starting with POST.

true in that nothing he's done since Worry comes remotely close, but idk No Dream was no slouch

Album Rating: 3.5
No Dream is still comfortably his third best solo album for me, maybe second best depending on the ~mood~ but yeah this and post- are clearly lesser

I sadly agree. Everything after Worry. has been serviceable and I think mostly enjoyed by those who weren't super aware of Bomb the Music Industry. No Dream was a nice little bounceback after the similarly-inessential Post-, but there is just a level of diminishing returns to the sound he's settled on in his solo career. Nothing is bad, but nothing's really changed.
Feel like he could really take a page from Laura Stevenson in adventuring off in different directions while still holding true to his roots

feel like he's always been kinda inconsistent on an album-to-album basis. scrambles/adults/vacation is prob the only time he's ever made three certified banger albums in a row
in terms of his solo stuff... i look like shit and we cool? have a bunch of great songs but are a bit of a mess... worry is obviously goated... post- is a dud (by his standards)... no dream is goated... and this seems to be another dud. even on the "duds" theres at least like 2-3 classic jeff songs... like usa and 9/10 on post and prob future is dumb and 3 summers here
dude seems to be writing a lot of music for tv these days... could def be a factor here

Album is pretty sweet, but I need a few more listens to land on a rating. I appreciate that he’s changing things up a bit here while staying true to his sound.

jeff has a grand total of zero solo albums that can even touch his btmi material

Satellite sighting!!!!
Yeah this gives off BTMI! vibes which is nice. I’d love to see him one day but I’m pretty sure an artist like him would just be wasting money coming here so I get it. Maybe I’ll be able to fly out to a show someday.

I Look Like Shit and We Cool? seemed more like him kinda finding his solo voice by toning things down a little and upping the production. Worry. is an outright masterpiece and No Dream kinda seems like a synthesis of his solo and band stuff. Post- and Hellmode kinda seem like directionless stopgaps, although I also didn't have No Dream click quite as much for me as it seemed to have with most others.
Jeff is an immensely talented songwriter but I can't help but feel a little disappointed that he has more or less stayed in the same lane since Vacation, even though I absolutely think Worry. is one of the best records of the 2010's

For sure. I’m hoping this gets enough backlash that he might actually consider a switch up. Entirely his prerogative - it’s his art - but I think it’d be cool. Songwriting / album structuring of a WORRY plus new stylistic direction sounds yum.

Jeff we love you

no we really don't

Would love to see him do another really ambitious album like Worry. but maybe with a more laid back approach like some of the songs on here, 9/10 from Post-, and the Neil Young covers EP. I think he could make a great album still if he didn't attempt to shoehorn in so much zaniness and kinda go in a direction like Laura Stevenson's Cocksure or Weezer's Pinkerton
