The Glass is Empty is better than anything off of Aphelion, holy shit what a track.
I‘m a bit sad that there aren‘t more off-kilter grooves and melodies like on Grotto, that would‘ve been a nice change of direction.

"The Glass is Empty" and "Splitting the Soul" are phenomenal tracks. In general, there's a lot to love on this album. I feel like there are a couple of tracks that seem to lack a true build-up, but in general it's a really cool project.

@Shape: Have you checked it out yet?
@Coldplaz / MarsKid: I agree about "Home" being terrible. It's bad long before the rap verse comes in, but that is definitely what seals the deal.
"The Glass is Half Empty" is easily one of my favorites.

Finally gave it a listen, enjoyed it quite a bit.
Hard disagree on Home, it's actually a standout on first listen along with the Ihsahn feature and the last track.
Like, at this point I *know* Einar can handle subtlety building into an explosive climax and do it well, I'm glad we get plenty of that on the album, but shit like Home is 100% what I want to see an artist doing in a solo venture. I love the way the vocals come in strong as fuck after a mostly reserved Metacognitive, that whole intro section with the synth sounds and the crunchy ass bass is dope as fuck, super unique track. The rap verse didn't really help or mar the track for me, it was an interesting surprise at the very least, it works well with the instrumental behind it I think.
Also hard disagree that this is just proof Leprous is just the Einar show now; Yes he's been more prevalent/had more control on recent albums, but it seems ignorant as fuck and detracting a lot of really incredible work the rest of the boys added to those albums to treat them as useless/non-present on the last couple Leprous records, and this being mostly electronic lends a very different flavor to the overall product and I'm glad this exists alongside the Leprous albums, new or old. Excited to see how some of these tracks grow on me.

Nicely put. I can't agree about "Home" as that song rubs me the wrong way pretty much as soon as it starts.
As for the second paragraph, personally I was saying what you're saying... that this isn't proof that Leprous is the Einar show now. In the conclusion I put: "By showcasing a collection of songs that are solely by him, it should be evident that Leprous and Einar Solberg's solo work are distinct entities."

Yep totally agree. Probably land around the same score although the more I spend time on this site the more I realize I hate objectively trying to rate something on a scale of 5, but either way I enjoyed the write-up and the album both.
You wrong about Home though. One day you'll see.

Oh, yes, "The Glass Is Empty" but not in terms of judging that awesome track. Reminds me I wanted to watch "Lamb" which Tóti Guðnason created the soundtrack for.

The more I listen to "The Glass is Empty", the more it moves towards being one of my top ten tracks of the year. The emotional weight of it... The piano work... There's so much good music this year but that track is just tops.

This record really has some cool tracks. Where All the Twigs Broke is quite something. Production really makes it sound massive
