I agree Brabiz, "The Ladder" is also very good and consistent. And the others, in general, have some nice tracks too. And according to the changes in their line up, that it's really amazing.

In relation to their line up, in this moment they've only one classic member Steve Howe, which isn't properly a founder member.

In a way, it’s interesting to me. Sort of like King Crimson, although Yes doesn’t have a Fripp to put things together. This album is still very distinctly Yes, even with all of the lineup changes and I don’t mind that at all.

Yes don't have in this moment a member to put things together but they had, Chris Squire, till he passed away.

Indeed, which is another reason I respect this album so much in particular. They pulled off something this solid and genuine without Squire. Actively anticipating whatever they do next.

copy-pasting my rym comment to show a little more positivity (thought the thread was a lot of worse actually!):
The title track is by far the best Davison song so far, and I really like the intro/outro parts of Luminosity. Not *that* bad of an album imo, at least I can listen to it this time lol

Magnification was the last album that I liked. Yes is a No nowadays.

Kinda fascinating that this is their highest rated album in over 40 years

Magnification is a phenomenal album. I think people dog on a lot of their albums way too much. The band is surprisingly consistent considering how much people shit talk them. The record before this one was doo doo, but aside from that, at their worst theyre just a bit boring
|
| |
Agreed. Magnification is an excellent album, maybe their best of their last albums, despite I also like of Fly From Here.

Modern Yes sounds like this and I can’t unhear it 😭

Wait... this is actually good? The new one is good? What's going on here? I was led to believe these guys were mostly garbage for the last 40 years.

I agree with most on here. Yes is very consistent. I did not have high hopes for some albums based on the ratings. I have been pleasantly surprised with these albums. I am on the 2011 Fly From Here album and added the 2018 Return Trip in as a Playlist so I can see the changes they made on each song. I am enjoying the 2011 original as well. These guys kick ass

Magnification was GREAT. I loved the orchestral additions to it. And the two 10+ min songs were awesome too
|
| |
I'm a bit curious about this one, but I don't expect to hear something great, unfortunately.

Lowered my rating for this one a bit because I think the new one is considerably better.

Aurora JUST came out. And with 2 bonus tracks. Excited to give it a listen soon after I finish The Quest and this album.

Quest and this album both have a couple bonus tracks which I am also going to give a go

I’m interested in your take on Aurora, because it takes the “this is really promising” feeling of Mirror To The Sky and realizes it fully. The band sounds pretty damn inspired on this thing. As much as I loved the last few albums, this one is genuinely fantastic.

I was thinking of giving this a 3.0 but decided on a 3.5 on first listen. I Heard the album as well as the 3 bonus tracks. I actually find this weaker than the last 3 albums. I am once again in the minority
PERSONAL Standout Tracks on 1st Listen.
