I'll reiterate something your TSwift review from a while back made me consider. You really don't read major pop reviews anymore that operate from the implicit premise that the artist isn't very good. I think what function that serves in a broad sense is up for debate but given what the general discourse around this stuff has become I enjoy seeing it
