i liked what i have heard. i'd give it a 3.2. 2.7 is fair though. decent but nothing special

i like your writing but i feel like you overused parentheses in this one. if you're gonna say something, you can just say it with commas before and after it instead
"(paradoxically) not all that “““heavy”””) "
is there supposed to be an open parenthesis?

it’s not open (I think) if you read the broader sentence though I take your point, i probs did go a lil overboard here. suits the disjointed style I usually like to write in, though I suspect doesn’t aid readability lol so fair criticism

LET'S BRAWL FELLAS! IT'S TIME FOR A VULGAR DISPLAY OF WHAT IT TRULY MEANS TO BE PRIMITIVE
|

Glad I'm not the only one who's never been particularly enthused by Primitive Man -- even as someone else who likes their music sludgy and slow, they've never quite grabbed me with those monolithic long songs that just repeat the same basic riff for 8+ minutes
Full of Hell are occasionally hit or miss for me too but I do tend to love them when they're in collab mode so I'm still at the very least cautiously optimistic for this considering I dug the singles more than I expected to
|

Prior to seeing Primitive Man live I was kinda with you on their long, drawn out songs not doing it for me but once they absolutely crushed and deafened me in person I gained a new appreciation for them. That said even now when I'm in a sludgy mood I'm still much more likely to go for some Meth Drinker or Grief before I'll jam anything from Primitive Man. Stoked for this regardless though because as you mentioned Full of Hell tend to do well with these collabs and Primitive Man crush regardless of how infrequently I jam them

I've probably told this story before but years back I saw Full of Hell and the Body do their Collab album live in the basement of a bicycle shop and everyone was using a trailer out back as a troft/urinal and once their set was over their drummer was looking like he was gonna black out from heat exhaustion and he immediately ran outside and dropped down on his back on the trailer that was drenched in piss lol I would have warned him but it all happened so damn quick and I felt baddd.
That show was killer though. I also had a very fun conversation with The Body's vocalist about forming a trve black metal bands where we'd all rock floaties and swim trunks!

That's fuckin awesome dude lmao, still dream of seeing full of hell live just because I know that man's vocals in person are going to be absolutely blood curdling from what I've seen in videos
Primitive man definitely seems like a band that would play much better live where you could physically *feel* how pulverizing their music can be but when it comes to recordings there are definitely other younger bands that are doing more interesting stuff than those guys seem to be

Not a big PM fan, but Full of Hell is goated. Will check this out.

prim man live is what i imagine sunn is just with actual instruments. shit was fucking visceral
haven’t heard this yet, but if it’s heavy drone and ur familiar with foh’s catalog i see this being dece

I'd definitely say don't miss the chance to see either of them if ya get the chance secondsun! I've gotten to see Full of Hell 3 times in a two year period. 4 if you count the one with The Body. They've absolutely killed it every single time. Their sound especially in smaller venues is nuts.
And visceral is the perfect word to describe Primitive Man's live shows. I'd say they're more than likely the loudest band I've ever seen and I've been to some deafening shows to say the least. It was the only show that made me wish I brought earplugs to shows along with Conan when I saw them lol.
