Big|Brave keep on offering large soundscape built from drone, doom, sludge, noise rock, and those gothic/folk vibes that seem to be mandatory nowadays

oof yes

probably agreed based on the first two tracks; gonna jam in full later

Name isn't dumb, it's just that it doesn't really sound metal. But then again, neither does their music.

I suppose that's why they're no longer listed on Metal Archives (yet for some reason, Hank Williams III is...).

My copy should arrive within hours. Gonna jam like there's no tomorrow.

there's something tight and crisp about this band's sound that I find weirdly off-putting, it's obviously loud as all hell and contains feedback etc, but there's so much precision in the engineering that sense of noise and HUGE SCALE that i feel i very much should be feeling is neutered (don't u dare make a point about the concept/thematics) and the atmosphere kinda collapses for me

shit probably blows the roof off live, but i'm gonna venture that this is much closer to the ERR/CW moodyshit pantheon than the qualities that i ultimately care about in drone/doom. it's like they go through the motions of the latter but don't particularly care for the aesthetic. fair enough, probably, but this (prod-wise) sounds a tad hollow to me. performances etc are all there but ehhh

not jammed (my touchstones for this sound are more Nadja/Boris/Bloody Panda/The Goslings though I've finally hopped onto Melvins to push that) - which should I hear??
