Deth, the whole Cannibal Corpse thing, they have bad lyrics too, but at least they make sense. Slayer's don't always.
Example: Piece By Piece. "Bones and Blood lie on the ground, rotten limbs lie dead, decapitated bodies found, on my wall your head!"
Not only can limbs not die, but that's an extremely corny lyrical passage; or shitty if you will.
South of Heaven has great lyrics, but the majority of Slayer lyrics are just shock value, and often at the expense of intelligence and anythin else that makes lyrics interesting. This Message Edited On 08.16.06

Who cares about the lyrics anyway? I'm just interested in the instrumental stuff though.

lyrics are for people who suck at their instruments

You obviously cared enough to retort and defend.

Junior? Aren't you 16?
Slayer's lyrics aren't taken seriously execpt for idiot redneck skinheads. All they are is a voice infront of some awsome music. I can't say I listen to Slayer to reflect on the issues facing modern society or to explore my spiritual beliefs and feelings, I turn that sh*t up loud and go nuts. This Message Edited On 08.16.06

His main account is Eliminator Jr. And no actually, I'm fifteen. Anyway, that was obviously a joke.

Fair enough. That won't stop me and others from thinking they're crappy. Don't get me wrong, I like some Slayer. Some.

How extremely stereotypical of you. Seriously that was one of the worst sentences I've ever read on this site. As for Slayers lyrics, yeah they're bad, but I still love slayer.

This album is an undeniable classic of thrash metal, whether the lyrics make sense or not. Although the middle of the album is some of the most fillerific metal I've ever heard, Slayer never lets it show and never lets up. Although one of the pinnacles of metal, the genre has evolved much since then. Anyone can list Slayer as one of their influences and get patted on the back for it. It's simple music with a simple purpouse: to make you scream and bleed. For that, it succeeds it every possible way.

Yeah... sorry for me not knowing the "quote" action, I'm not an natural english speaker so please forgive type o's
"Jesus Saves starts with a slower intro made by power chords I guess, the drums enters later in a slower pattern. The guitars later starts to play some sweet triplet riffs"
Actually it's 9/8 and not triplets. I'm (formally) musicaly educated (please don't take this as snob, I'm trying to help and have a perfectionism problem).
"Criminally Insane starts with slow heavy drumbeats and fast high-hat tapping, the guitars enters with catchy shredding. "
It's ride, not hi-hat
"Postmortem starts with a slow intro with half-catchy intro riffiing, the song gets later very catchy when the fast and rhythmic drumming enters. The shredding guitars are equally as catchy as the drumming"
You know the intro isn't any slower than the verse, don't you? The actual "drum-beats" just haven't begun.
Raining Blood aqtually doesn't start untill the dum-dum-dum chapter, the insanely-fast stuff is the postmortem outro, the lyrics there are under "Postmortem" you see, The first words in Raining blood are "Trapped In Purgatory"
But Otherwise it's a great review, of course when you do such a detailed description, there are bound to be mistakes. ;)This Message Edited On 10.24.06

I have basically no musical knowledge but I try to do my best, thanks though.

A lot of Slayer albums are very cheap at my local music dealership.
=D
I'l probably go get this one first, then Seasons in the abyss and that's it, the other albums are untrusty and not very accepted by the community.

Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy aren't bad. I wouldn't go much farther than that, though.

Yeah, after Seasons in the Abyss, you kind of run into...an abyss 0.o. The latest two albums aren't half-bad though. Show No Mercy and Haunting the Chapel are great discs, but if you can find the special editions of SNM/HA/RiB/SoH, I think all the tracks on HtC are spread out among them.
