@Get Low... what are you talking about mid? HIL has yet to release a bad album and this is better than White Bat which was a damn solid album

This album fucking shreds. He is legend continues to wow me with every release. And that middle s crion to Lord Slug 🤌🤘🤘. Hot damn it's heavy!

It's got the heavy chugs. It's got the technical shreds. It's got the memorable melodies. It's got the old school breakdowns. It's got a little bit of everything.

Aw, Spirit never got to hear this did he? I'll have to jam in his honor.

He did. He had a review copy for a few weeks before it dropped

He has a mini review of it somewhere too. Not sure where.

Feels like classic He Is Legend and yet this album definitely has its own groovy, grimy personality. The standout tracks are great and I imagine the rest will likely grow on me.

Also sorry to double-post but fuck me Adam's guitar work is just insane here. Dude is a massive talent and deserves more recognition.

Few was very solid and got me interested in the band again after thinking heavy fruit was a bit out there. This follows up White Bat pretty well.

I'm relieved to hear Spirit got to jam this before he went. He seemed very into this band based off that list he did.

I would argue there’s a lot of I Am Hollywood sounding melodies throughout this album, particularly during the lighter moments. “Sour” sounds like an IAH b-side in my opinion.

This thing's challenging It Hate You for favorite HiL -- and after just a couple listens. Totally shocked. Rules!

Idk if it's unseating any of the heavy hitters for me, but at least on the level of White Bat. Ahead of Few and Heavy Fruit but behind the first three albums.

White Bat fell extremely flat for me. The highlights are great and the title track is top 10 if not top 5 for me, but there wasn't a lot of replay value for me like the rest of their albums. This is a huge step up in my opinion. Definitely a 4 after second listen but will take time to sink in. The rhythmic work on this is A-tier as per usual with HIL. And the lead work is chef's kiss as always. Definitely would like to hear the guitarist just shred on a solo but respect his restraint from the song writing aspect.
