My own enjoyment of this gets better and better but it's still the least ambitious / unique of the past 4 albums

What you know.. this does get better after a while.
A bit lackluster in the beggining but then all of a sudden I had almost every tune stuck in my head.

Finally got around to listening to this. It's solid, but not as interesting as the three records preceding it.

That's basically where I'm at. A great album with some good rockers to take away, but it's a bit below the standard we've come to expect from this project. Didn't take some of the risks Moonglow took and the songwriting just isn't as engaging as Ghostlights.

Avantasia is a lot like pizza, even if there's only cheese, it's still pretty good.

A new direction, I dig it. Some cozy, cheery keyboard metal

Not sure about it. Reminded me of Edguy's worst phase.

yea its a new direction alright, just hoping its a one-off. really didnt like that era of Edguy either. was hoping for some Metal Opera throwback with that album art but apparently Tobi said that isnt happening aside from a single bonus track

Yea, Metal Opera is already done and Tobo won't return to it
I am fine with that

'Creepshow' has grown on me. It's in a category of "not what I wanted at all.. but fine.." I think my least favorite part is that its only 3:00 minutes, which is short even for some of the more Pop-oriented tracks. Hopefully the extended version on the deluxe album has something a little more.
I didn't really dive into Edguy or Avantasia until well after Tobi has switched into the more hard rock direction away from straight Power Metal so neither Metal Opera's were selling points to me. My version of that, honestly, would be another Mystery of Time. A tight 10 tracks long with multiple epics, orchestra, the works. Love that album.
Am excited for the new album regardless.
(Also I regret trashing a bit on Kill the Pain Away, because that track has grown on me substantially since it's release and its wonderful. Rhyme or Reason can easily take its place in my review now-days)
