What is up with the singers lyricism and inflection?

Alex Turner. Takes some getting used to.

You can almost hear the tears of the fans that jumped on the AM bandwagon as you listen to this.
|
| |
You motherfuckers said the same thing about TBHC. Yeah I know the people who jumped on the AM bandwagon are annoying but it’s been nearly a decade, let it go.

i feel like arctic monkeys fell into a james bond song and couldn't get out.
the whole album feels like one big long james bond theme

For what it’s worth I think fans who jumped on at AM jumped straight back off again with TBHAC
The people crying on their social media pages are the ones who’s tastes haven’t changed in the nearly twenty years since they burst on the scene

Yeah it’s definitely a grower, I listened to it six times on release day before writing this and the review would’ve been more a 3.5-4 if I’d written it after two plays
Full of ear worms so good that they’re in my head from the minute I wake up!

Same. Played this a lot in the past three days and it's a real grower. Even the tracks I did not care for on first couple of listens (Mr. Schwartz and The Car) just fit in very well now.
|
| |
The car is the only one that didn't click for me, even after the 4th time. It's just kinda lame

Lol I feel like you just not have listened to the band for a good decade maybe more and definitely didn’t read this review to be asking that question 🤣

After like 10 listens, I do not care for Sculptures and Jet Skis. The back half saves the front side for me. Gonna bump this to a 4, love 8/10 tracks on this… math checks out!
Loving Hello You the most, besides the singles

"One thing lacking from the last album was the guitars which had been forever at the forefront of Arctic Monkeys’ music, but now they’re back with some beautiful licks and melodies."
Hard disagree, I think TBHC has a way more guitar moments than this album as a whole. There are moments but I think the guitars are subtle throughout

“I listened to it six times on release day before writing this”
How do you even manage that? At that point, it’s surely well past the point of enjoyment and more like cramming for an exam.
