The female clean vocals do have more time to shine in Chapter II I would say. Also this overall album (I and II) is my first time writing vocal lines for a woman so it was probably something I didn't use at its full potential. But yeah she does sing a bit higher in parts of II.
And no the production is done by Christian Donaldson. His last big project you'd recognize would probably Shadow of Intent's Elegy. Also Cryptopsy (literally his band haha), The Agonist and Beyond Creation. Any extreme metal coming from Quebec essentially.

Oh, that's pretty cool though. Did you guys have any input on how you wanted the record to sound? You also recorded everything with him? I am curious to how such a process would go as a small band with quite a big producer!

We do have quite a bit of input, though ultimately he has his own sound. Also he's a pretty good friend of mine after working with him for so long (everything except the first EP). We did record everything with him, it's a lot of fun, he's a fun dude. It's like a big dad jokes contest between him and I.

Wow that's super cool, didn't know he did all the records (also probably didn't know him at the time when you released that first record). I must say though that I am surprised he didn't get some more energy into the female clean vocals

I think some of it comes down to some of her vocal lines being slightly under the range where she can 100% push. But she's naturally pretty quiet as well haha, and she hasn't been singing for very long. Hearing her talk so quietly and then get out those massive growls right after is still funny to me after 2 years haha.

Haha yeah, also surprised me she doesn't sing as loud but has pretty massive screams
