That i can actually understand, I guess I didn't really consider the unbrokeness of it and how it would contribute to that sense of progression you mentioned.
I think if I HAD to rank Damian projects I would probably go Trha > Life > Sadness, but they are all fucking excellent. Like, top of their respective genres excellent.

Well, to be fair, Sadness has been around a lot longer/is a lot older. A lot of why Life (which I don't personally care for but understand the appeal) and Trha are so tight has much to do with everything he's learned through trial and error and attempting so many different (sub) styles and approaches with Sadness.
So while I don't think I could argue that Life and Trha and better overall by comparison, I still think where he really nails it with Sadness (like on the albums I mentioned) is some of the best conveyance of emotional content in music, regardless of genre.

I think I might've mentioned this to you before but he had another (now abandoned) project called "Left alone…" that was also really good. Darker than the darkest stuff he ever did for Sadness (which is probably why he abandoned it, was TOO much with the depression haha).
"Burning Gardens" off Empty Moment is absolutely devastating.

That's a good point, but I can't help but bring up that Damian has a tendency to work in a very non-linear fashion, so we really don't know when anything released within the last couple was either conceived or recorded. That being said, I don't necessarily disagree w/Sadness perhaps being his "trial run".
The appeal to Life for me, is that how emotionally captivating that project is and how it honors late 90's/early 2000's skramz without sounding like a rehash.

And yes! Left Alone... rules! I wonder why he decided to end that project. Maybe just too much going on.
