You could do that with most bands

I think collabs would do them wonders. It works well for bands like Thou and The Body

I would love for them to do collabs. Maybe even bring a different vocalist for each album. It's just really clear they need a shot in the arm.

@Senetrix
There's a difference between a band carving out their own niche and being truly homogenous. Bands that manage to last as long Russian Circles definitely have a little more trouble staying unique, but it's not impossible. It doesn't really feel like they have a mission statement for their albums after the first few.

I feel like i understood what Odal meant by that, but I’m not sure i understood what you meant by putting it in quotation marks. Isn’t that ironic

Holy f*ck, this album is such an infuriating listen. What happened to this band?

If you don't like the bridge on Tupilak you don't like post rock. Opener,closer and t/t are all 4-5 worthy. The rest is kinda meh.

It's not a bad album. Yeah it's Russian Circles doing Russian Circles but if the riffs are there...

Can envisage a world where after 10+ years of honing your songwriting skills you decide to delve deeply into perfecting production and tone. Album sounds great, stop thinking bands need to change with your tastes.

Apparently "great" and "boring" are synonymous in pizza's book ;)

Yeah this is fantastic, and is the first time since enter that I think they've captivated me from start to finish. They've always been a better live experience though, having seen them six or seven times over the years. Caught them a few nights ago and they were absolutely incredible, better than ever.

I just dig their minimal, atmospheric formula. Heavy and textural. It's all 4.5, to me.

They could keep dishing these out. Be the Motorhead of Post-Metal.

They kind of are at this point. They've made the same album five times now.

Honestly has grown on me immensely since release. Their music composition is so tight and well crafted it's just too satisfying a listen. They definitely want the music to be the focal point and a vocalist would distract from that but I still believe they could stand from a big shape up in some way.
