"It’s definitely pleasant and adds some new territory for them. I do miss some of the old earworm hooks, however."
Essentially sums up my feeling here as well

I'm over them by now though I still occasionally listen to or think about their older music. Gutterflowers was the last album they put out that I thought still mattered. As for Robby's songs they are usually hit or miss. They certainly aren't all bad. Just one off the top of my head 'Laughing' kicks ass. It's one of the best on the album Hold me Up. Good review. It was a pleasant read.

I like it better than the last two but that isn't saying much, I suppose, but this actually had a couple standouts on it, while I didn't really want to hear anything again from Boxes and Miracle again

Gotta be honest, this is one of those bands I never gave a chance growing up, even as someone who enjoyed this kind of alt-rock. Something tells me it was because of their name, lol

I don't know if the Sex Maggots was a better name or not. Those are both honestly awful names. That was their original name. I suppose GGD is better, but I tended to just call them the Goos because eh it was quicker.

Def more approps for a punk band, which they have not been even close to in much time

Album Rating: 3.0 | Sound Off
Like to see the band returning to a sound that feels more like them. The last few albums have been painfully boring, so this was a great step up. Personally i prefer their more energetic alt rock stuff, though.

I don't even remember posting here, but it does make sense why. I still never heard this album so do what you want. This is just a random bump from my activity posts. I saw.
