After a couple listens I'm really digging the instrumental work on all of these (you've seriously only been playing for three years?? I've had a guitar for eight and I still can't play bar chords lol). But yeah, as others have mentioned the vocals are probably going to keep me from revisiting this much outside of maybe Butterfly, which British accent notwithstanding seems to fit a little more comfortably in your register. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for your follow-up!

Very respectable first release! The closer was definitely my favorite.

A mass crucifixion couldn’t redeem this steaming pile of - oh this is a Sputnik project
Pretty good stuff here! Excited to see what comes next!
Nah I haven’t heard it yet, I’ll check it out at some point between now and next year and leave an unvarnished review

Lol

i keep hearing such wild comparisons i would've never even considered. The Mars Volta, The Sounds of Animals Fighting, Dillinger, Converge, etc. and that's just wild to me lmao
still trying to figure out what 3 bands i need to prioritize for the "for fans of". La Dispute seems to be consistent/the most obvious. i feel like DGD is very blanket and maybe not 100% accurate but gets the point across.

"i keep hearing such wild comparisons i would've never even considered. The Mars Volta, The Sounds of Animals Fighting, Dillinger, Converge, etc. and that's just wild to me lmao"
I spammed my own pop-punk/black metal project here some months ago, and a friend of mine told me we sound like Imagine Dragons.
Like, of course Alone I Stand sounds like The Mars Volta, if the only artists you're considering are Alone I Stand, The Mars Volta and Mongolian throat singers.

Vox sound like the saddest landscape and this other band whose name is escaping me…but I dig the style just v desperate sounding
|
| |
@cugno lmfao very true
@conmaniac LOVE the saddest landscape comparison, his style is def one of my favorites

This is out of left field, but at one point your singing reminded me of Alien Ant Farm, but I knew I couldn’t include that in the review lol.

guys icarus the owl is in my spotify fans also like, that's all i could possibly ever care about ever.
working on new shit now, def a lot better production wise than this, but a bit more streamlined ! short emo in spirit mathish/phc songs kinda! 3 1/2 songs out of 5 finished, cant wait to be done.

What's up with your profile picture? Why are you standing alone (pun totally intended)? Is this a one-man project now?
|
| |
yeah, my ex-drummer ie bffff since hs/have known since elementary school thinks i helped cyberbully his girlfriend and does not believe i didnt lmao (spoiler alert, i didnt!) so yeah, i'm bandless but working with a producer atm/and i have some friends that may be willing to help out so that'll be cool.
but for now, we stand alone

Oh man, that sucks, I hope you guys manage to resolve the matter, losing a friendship like that would be sad.
|
| |
i hope so too dude, by far the wildest thing i've ever had to deal with in life because of how absurd the scenario is, but here we are.
it sucks that this release feels kinda tainted to me at this point (only kinda) but at the same time, im glad we could at least do something together before shit hit the fan
