Campaign had a lot of heart and was a great character-driven narrative. It was a bold departure from prior campaigns bonestly and it (foolishly) had me optimistic for the future.

They should've kept Cortana dead.

Halo 4 campaign was mostly pretty good i thought and had some of the most visually stunning stuff in the franchise, but it becomes kind of a slog toward the end. Not as good as 1-3 campaigns but I think it was about as fun to play as reach was. 4 is where the story really started to drop off though. 5 is just godawful

Reach OST has a more unique tone compared to the other games and I'm drawn to it more. That doesn't mean the other OSTs are at all bad, but I give the edge to Reach.

Reach definitely has some hard jams

It's beautifully somber. Very apt for a game where you just watch the world you're in crumble. "New Alexandria" is an absolute gem.

Halo CE to Reach is all quality. I still maintain 4 had a good campaign. Afterwards, the wheels fell off.

I enjoyed 4 for the most part, but you could definitely tell that the writing team and direction had changed.

While I definitely felt a little emotional with the Cortana chief ending scene in 4, I think the story focused on a borderline love story between them cheapens a story that, prior to 4, was more focused on a much bigger picture... humanity's struggle for survival against the mysteries of the covenant/forerunners/halo

I thought it was a neat twist that they decided to focus on the main characters and their relationship, as it hadn't been done in the series before. I also read their dynamic as platonic tbh, it's less of a romance and more of a tragedy of watching someone who's been with you for years rapidly declining in health.

Wish Cortana stayed dead and they didn't just torpedo her character (5) or basically just being her back for the most part (Infinite).
