Great review. I have the exact same sentiment of really wanting to like this album, but not being really sure whether I actually do... Just saw them love and have the same feeling about their concert. Extremely friendly guys, but there was no spark.

On closer inspection, I have been too harsh on this album. It's been playing here for weeks now and I only seem to like it better and better. As to song writing, I like it even better than the Trials of Van Occupanther. The lyrics are a bit more straight forward, but this album balances the softer, traditional parts with radiohead style drums and punch in a way that previous albums didnt.
