i take back some of my etid slander. i really like this as well. like a more refined hot damn. still think it's way different to their last few albums tho so maybe my opinion hasn't really changed.
but man this is just a fun album. so many quotable lines and crunchy riffs. love the two features as well despite keith's cleans sounding similar to palumbo already lol. bored stiff, kill the music, the new black, champing at the bit and l'astronaut would be my picks here. absolute blast of a party metal album.

Big Dirty/New Junk are definitely in the same vein sound and production wise. You'll prob love Dirty especially if you're really digging this. They up the rock/party vibes

sweet brother. really looking forward to jaming them. been really enjoying buckley's lyrics, overlooked them before. very self deprecating and funny. reminds me a ton of guy from the red chord's.

yeah people make it seem like these guys made the same album nine times in a row sometimes, but imo their sound def took a darker/angrier turn starting with ex lives. very clear divide between their 00s and 10s material imo

I feel like this is a blasphemous thing to say around these parts, but I’m actually liking this quite a bit more than hot damn. I just feel it has more melody and variety to the sound. Just more dynamic and memorable.
Not saying hot damn isn’t a good album, it is. But I prefer this one so far. I will agree that The production sucks and the sound is kind of muddy, but the songs themselves are great.

Much better than it gets credit for! Nearly all of the album rankings I looked/read over have either this or LNIT at the bottom. So far have only listened to their first 3 albums, but so far I’d literally rank them in reverse order — so far, each subsequent album improves on the previous.

this and the big dirty are the perfect party metal albums. so much fun.

Hell yeah. Looking forward to it. The big dirty placed pretty fucking high on quite a few of the rankings I looked at.
Low Teens, Radicals and Hot Damn seemed to be the most frequently placed number 1s though.
