"But again, the most recent JT, Deep Purple and Yes albums are all rated at 3 (Good) or higher on this website, so someone is still finding them worthwhile."

I fuckin' loved Whoosh, can't speak for this or Yes though. You couldn't pay me to listen to a Jethro Tull record all the way through.

I don’t like the Yes album at all, but then again, I’m also very negatively biased toward the current incarnation of Yes

I liked this album better than the Yes album, but I was glad to have them both. I've never really been a Purple fan, so I didn't listen to the new one, but I have no problem with them pleasing their fan base and putting something new out. My only thing is I would hate to see any of these bands embarrass themselves. I don't feel either Tull or Yes did that, and from what I hear, neither did Deep Purple.

Anderson looks very intimidating these days doesn't he. Kind of like a more sinister/occult version of Walter White or something.

I think that's to do with the theme of the album. They deliberately shot it so half of his face was in black and the other half in white (for people who can only see things in black-and-white). And the angry look again is the notion of the Zealot Gene - the angry people who always have a nest of hornets up their bum, as Ian put it.

I thought he looked like a weak old man

I saw a couple of the promo interviews he gave for this album, and he looked surprisingly spry. Supposedly, he has already started working on his next LP. He didn't say if it would be a JT album or a solo album. Good on him.

Yet his vocals both on the latest record and in live performances makes him sound like he needs to retire imo
