So, so much better than Erase Me.. like, my god this is so much better but still somewhat a far cry from their albums released before Erase Me.. more Post-Metal elements like in those albums would definitely help aswell as more atmospheric sections .. We’re All Gonna Die is in my opinion a solid track and one of the more memorable from the album and I really don't see any similarities with Breaking Benjamin (wtf?) and Numb has maybe a chorus that sounds like it came straight from They're Only Chasing Safety but I don't see it as a bad thing when it fits the song and is pretty catchy without being annoying .. all in all, a solid 3,5/5

I got into this band with Define the Great Line, which ultimately became my 2nd favorite behind only Disambiguation. Lost in the Sound of Separation is better than this, but this at least tops Erase Me. Still haven't heard anything pre-Define.

TOCS is great if you're looking for some mid 2000's emocore

Can’t believe the avg already down to 3.3. This is like a full letter grade above Erase Me

The only thing that tells me is that Erase Me is rated too highly.

3.3 is extremely surprising and generous

Is it? I’m not sure how to actually prove that out now that I’m thinking about it, anyway, I think this is easily ~0.7 better than Erase Me. Like easily

How is a 3.3 generous lmao?? If this was an Architects album it would be the best Architects album and would probably be sitting at a 3.7 rn. Expectations are impossibly high because it’s Underoath tho

It is butt, 2.7 is stunningly high for Erase Me lmao

Architects are crazy bland and I don't listen to them so idk how that folds into this discussion tbh

Honestly agreed lol

Rapture and Wake Me are horrid songs, whereas this album doesn't have anything outright offensively bad.

Approximately once a year there is a discussion thread that turns me back into my autistic high school self and I can already tell this is gonna be one of those threads. I should definitely stay off this site for like three weeks

Some songs here (like Thorn) have that newer metalcore sound that Architects has, so that’s where my mind went. The comparisons pretty much end there
