@veninblazer it’ll definitely take a couple listens cuz it’s a lot to digest. But man, once you’ve fully taken it in, it grows really fast.

More like Heavy Planet, amirite

Gonna sit with it for awhile but I'm thinking it's the best since TNGS, not sure it can top it though.

Album is rad, review is rad, hell ya boys. This sits behind TNGS and EWS but it's a step up from the last album for sure

It’s tied with WTEB after first listen for me, meaning technically their worst, but still solid. Second Sun and Till We Have Faces are the early highlights for me, and sadly the closer was pretty underwhelming. It felt like it was building so nicely then it just ends

Second Sun was definitely the highlight of my initial listen.

Second Sun was initially my favorite, but the final stretch of Anhedonia to Iridescent is by far the best thing here for me

"The voice is actually the slowed down version of a french flight boarding call (hence the song title)"
ahh. yea still sucks ass to me lmao perma skip. honestly dont even really jam the intro thing either
thats one of my reservations about bumping this up but the other is the singles kiiinda made me think this was gonna go a bit harder than it did, as anhedonia was the song that got me really hyped over this but its also still probably my favorite here. new songs still definitely slap tho some of the songs i was sleepin on (most notably sound of sleep) have been growin w more repeated jams and till we have faces has the best clean chorus on the album

housefire slaps too yea def up there w my favs here guitars go off on that one. second sun hasnt fully "hit me" yet for whatever reason but its still great

Garrett's vocals have definitely come a long way. His lows are fucking beefy, and that yell/sing hybrid thing he does in the second verse of Till We Have Faces really works for me. I would have liked more of that. I've always enjoyed his delivery but he's in top form here for sure.

yea prod is pretty thick and beefy too which rules since theyre not usually on the money when it comes to that. if only the redux for night god slept had these tones and vocals

I still think the best progression here is Alex... dude's drumming is absolutely ridiculous on this
|
| |
Yeah production has definitely been a weak point with them, glad this sounds as good as it does. The low end is huge.
Drumming hasn't stood out to me yet, but I've been really focused on Garrett in my initial spins, I'll have to swap focus on my next run through and see what drummer boi is up to.

Saw these guys at furnace fest and wasn't impressed with the live show ... singer sounded absolutely gassed the whole time. Will check this out though since yall are jerking to it.
