Excellent review, bro! "Anyone who’s paid a sliver of attention during my stint here knows how important lyrics are to me." made me laugh a little because it's so true and it echoes in your writing with the same respect that this artist gifted you. You can tell from the emotional depth of your review and precise word choice how meaningful it was to you. Love it

I don’t care what anyone says, I found the child of John Denver and Vanessa Carlton and I’m going to raise her as my own

Within 40 seconds of turning on Old Gods I was weeping. I cried for like 20 minutes while the next tracks played and then I got my headphones out for the first time in probably 10 months and then I wept some more

Let Em’ Burn and Hometown Heroes are the ones that really had me on the verge of tears. But she sings with a level of passion that makes the whole thing incredibly moving

Cheers Luc! Cool to see that 5 from you

yeah let em burn is the definitive tearjerker for me.. i'm starting to interpret the 'on the edge of something free' lines as eh ironic commentary on the fact that we're probably headed for another covid lockdown here in yeehaw europe lol

Alright, this is worming and warming its way into my cold little heart. Only song I don't really like is "Every Day in Faith."

I have a really high bar when it comes to solo piano and vocal songs and let me just say that "Let 'Em Burn" leaps right over it without a shadow of doubt, amazing song.

Is this the life I want for my own daughter?

Just trying to keep her head above the water?
