I feel it just doesn't go as hard

The typical absurd level of intensity just isn't there

Normally, for any other band, Hot Damn would be their best album, but these guys are just insane

i went in w lower expectations bc low teens is sub par for them, but i love this and from j generally reading ppls takes on it this has generally won over a lot of the ppl who thought low teens was a weaker outing of theirs

if Low Teens was considered a weaker outing with a 4.1 then this average is starting to make more sense

they should have cut 4-5 tracks and only released colossal wreck and AWOL as singles. still growing on me but it just doesnt hit the same as the rest of their discography. feels like an EP with a bunch of B-sides from past records thrown in. Post-boredom and sexsexsex are the worst album tracks they've ever released. Planet shit doesn't come close to marvelous slut or underwater bimbos. Thing with Feathers should have been the closer. Will Putneys production is overrated. ughhhhh

'FPU>Radical>Ex Lives>Hot Damn>NJA>Gutter>Last Night>Low Teens>Big Dirty'

Wow. This ranking looks almost unnervingly similar to mine with exception of this one (which I'm yet to decide on), so that gives me hope this is just going to keep getting better and better!

the lyrics on sexsexsex are so cringe. Love Keith but cmon that shit reads like a bad Marilyn Manson sex song.

I read in an interview somewhere that the lyrics Keith wrote for sexsexsex were intentionally erotic and misleading. The song is meant to showcase the power dynamic between submissive individuals (pushovers) and dominant personalities (aggressive/stubborn/etc.), in a relational sense - not necessarily sexual.
