At first I thought Higher Power was a passable single and people were overreacting because it’s Coldplay but no, it is really That Bad

Album Rating: 2.0 | Sound Off
Phenomenal: Coloratura
Great: People of the Pride (live version, not that shit that ended on the album, fu*k you Max Martin)
Good: Humankind, Higher Power, Human Heart
Bad: Let Somebody Go
Terrible: My Universe
WTF: Biutyful
I reallly hope that their next album will be less radio-friendly and more authentic. When they want to, they can create great songs (Coloratura, which according to bassist Guy Berryman has the least contribution from Max Martin). I think they just need producer that has a good vision and is relentless, someone like Brian Eno when they created Viva la Vida.

This is way worse then I think most people could have guessed based on that lead single

Coloratura aside, this is pretty awful. Just a hot mess.

5 tracks in and I'm not ready to write this off quite yet
Clearly multiple creative steps backwards, but I'm enjoying the spacey pop cohesion thus far.

I struggle to see how "spacey" would be an identifier if this wasn't a hamfisted "space album"
the only spacey connection is that this is music for pedos

Yeah was expecting this. Will check for completion's sake

Just finished and yeah it's def not good. I still enjoyed certain aspects of it enough not to trash the entire thing right off the bat, but this is maybe marginally better than A Head Full of Dreams, which means it's in the running for worst Coldplay.

I highly doubt this is that bad but neither of the singles I heard impressed me

They should take Coloratura as an example and do a Pink Floyd-ish record by themselves, not with big pop producers. It will never happen tho

People calling this radio-friendly as if this weren't so dated they couldn't possibly have expected most of this to get any airplay (BTS feature notwithstanding)
|
| |
honey sometimes you argue things and i nod, and then sometimes you talk about coldplay not expecting to get any airplay

Ok fine, lemme correct
The only Coldplay album less radio-friendly than this is Everyday Life. Idk why everyone's up and arms about them sounding "too pop", it's fuckin Coldplay
But regardless, this is very bad pop

Why early 00's Brisith band have all gone into trashy genres and albums? Muse is the one that hurt me the most. I can't get along with someone who likes post black holes period over the first 4 albums.

Chris Martin's divorce was supposed to make the band go into a more mature sound like U2's achtung baby not this bullshit.
