Yeah, that song rules and the lyrics are very strong on it (and everywhere else as well)

this is pretty good but it kind of just feels like a lesser version of "suburban light"
still many moments of undeniable bliss, but on a lot of these songs, their songwriting style is pretty unchanged from that compilation. lots of guitar phrases and vocal melodies sound like they could've come right from suburban light. thats not really a bad thing but this isnt charming me

While I disagree in some sense (given my 5 star rating), I can't object to your main points. This is very similar in vibe and execution to Suburban Light, and if I compared the top five best songs from Suburban Light vs. this, Suburban Light would come out ahead. Still, I think this one comes out slightly ahead as The Clientele's most cohesive album, it flows so well and keeps up an amazing atmosphere throughout.

this one will probably be a grower for me. i just have such a strong emotional connection to suburban light and i'm so familiar with it that i kinda can't help but compare the two.
for now, on to strange geometry
