New song is mid, typical nu-Thrice stuff. The moment I heard "Gnash" was the heaviest song on the new album my hype deflated. It might still have at least a couple of cool songs and I will listen to the album regardless, but man Ive never felt so indifferent to new Thrice before.

There are like two passes of a really cool instrumental jam in the bridge of the new song and goddamn is that what I wish nu Thrice sounded like all the time.

I know we only have 1/3 of the record out, but I'm guessing 'Gnash' is probably the only track in that vein after all.



"Holding On" is really forgettable, but "The Dark Glow" is interesting; reminds me of "The Whaler" from the Water EP in TAI;



All signs are pointing to another 3.0/3.5 record
