Didn't take you for someone who'd enjoy btbam sowing. Really enjoying this so far, but as always with these guys it needs more listens. Feels like this could be their strongest release since Parallax 2.

Definitely better than a 3, album flows so well.
Album is a bit too long but still requires more listens.
For me it's their best work since TGM, will soon see if it stands the test of time.

wait this is actually good?

Excellent review and correct rating. By all accounts (their talent, extreme musicianship, etc.) this should be a great album, but it’s just a suped up version of the same rather tired sound theyve milked for the past 12 years now. Overall impression: good but stale.

Tundra how are you not absolutely gushing over this lol, have you, dare I say, musically matured in the past few years?

I don't think it's anything to do with musical maturity haha, personal preference I imagine.
This feels like the first proper 'album' they've written in over a decade, flows incredibly well and there's less wankery/obnoxious songwriting going on.
That's why I can't stand albums like Parallax II, self indulgence to the max.

Hmmm. Maybe it's because I've skipped basically everything in between colors 1 and this that I don't fund this stale

@Fabius still like Automata and Coma, but this has too many cheesy hooks and not enough tech riffage for my taste. This mostly goes for the second half, the first half I think is pretty damn solid, but the second half drops the ball a bit for me. I like everything basically up to and including Stare Into the Abyss

on first listen really liked this. digested teh first 5 the best, then the whole "this is a prog album" effect started taking place for a bit although i was still super digging it. thought Turbulent was fantastic and the closer was fucking dope, especially the first 8 mins or so. Never Seen / Future Shock was my fave

Hopefully the featured review in time will not be one that is the result out of one listen.

I love the way the first minute or so of Double Helix mirrors the first minute of decade of statues, and I love the way the first minute or so of Human is Hell mirrors the first minute of white walls

Only two minutes in and there's no way in hell any of those 1's make any sense, wtf are people smoking

Them name dropping the band name was neat. Will this record make me actually get into this band outside of a handful of tracks I wonder.
