yeah this is disappointing, feels like they’re just following an algorithm here

For anyone who cares the new John Danielle book is pretty good and he recorded the audio version himself

Wolf in white van was great and universal harvester were interesting as well

If John took the best half of Dark In Here and mashed it with the better half of Getting Into Knives, this could have been an A+ release.

Goths was such an inspired release. I hope they release another one as good as that again

Just gave Bleed Out a first listen and loved it, easily their best since Goths if not Transcendental Youth.

It’s so good. I’m in the minority in liking all their recent releases but the new one is a step above for sure

Relistening to this now and I think I may have been wrong and that this is the most underrated goat album
EDIT: Jeez I’ve been bamboozled again. I commented this after the first 4-5 songs. The second half is a SNOOZER

Huge shame too since The Destruction of the Kola Superdeep Borehole Tower is one of my favorite songs they have ever released

The averages for this band are consistently confusing to me. This is really good. I like it a lot more than Bleed Out, I think.

oh also if we're talking about his novels:
all three are great, but the most recent one Devil House is very very very good. Wolf in White Van is awesome but a little first-novel-y. I recommend all three to anyone, but Devil House in particular.

@Aids I have read each of the books twice and devil house I agree is the best.
Universal Harvester is interesting and I have never read a book before like that that just abruptly ends, liked it more on the second go.
Wolf in White Van was better the first time through. I get what you mean by the first novel-y comment.
