I didn't even know this album existed... I always remembered The Man, the King, the Girl being Deerhoof's first record

Band slaps...

But I haven't heard this one.

Does anyone who’s actually explored this band’s discog a little, have an opinion on their best work? I was gonna start here, but a lack of convenience has thus far thwarted my half-arsed efforts. Then I noticed that their discog is a rather hefty beast.

start with The Man, the King, the Girl. This is essentially a self released demo. Best album is probably Reveille.

Okay well step one is complete, ‘The Man’ appears to perhaps be slightly better than the average suggests so far.
