the deathcore vibes are thankfully pretty minimal i think. it's more that there is an obvious hardcore element and some breakdowns but not really any of the other features of deathcore

That solo on the title track is lit. Really digging this shit.

Yeah, the solos are interesting, not too complex, but effective, for the benefit of the song

listening to this now. definitely more of a deathcore / slam feel so far like some of you guys have said than straight up brutal death. also 50 mins is way too long for this kind of album lol

Gotta wonder if they were pressured to make their sound more mainstream or something. I just can't imagine that No Rest No Peace is a song this band actually wanted to write.

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah some deathcore vibe sneaks in every now and then.

I believe the Exhorder-esque mainstream approach in No Rest No Peace came from the band, not the label. It mirrors the band's current groovy DNA.

Absolutely. Deathcore vox, Technical Deathcore riffing, Deathcore breakdowns, Deathcore production, with a hint of slam. There’s nothing brutal death metal about this album.

Sounds like a lot of the other Deathcore ULR has been putting out recently. I mean it’s pretty good Deathcore despite being too long but yeah my vote goes to deathcore

Katalepsy’s first EP was pretty generic slam so it’s not a new thing for them to be groove-oriented

Despite the groove, the album still has a BDM core, in my opinion.

Fellas is it deathcore or not? The answer directly impacts my rating.

Also, this album is about 20 grindcore songs too long.

I also love the Slayer-esque riffs on The God of Grave. Title track also has a couple of good ones
