Anyway, I thought this sounded a little samey at first too but after a few listens I realized every track has a unique something or other.

The bass stands out more on one, there's a chorus on another, one has a violin, another has a key-based melody, another is much slower paced, another has heavier sounding riffs. List goes on. Not samey at all.

I'm the opposite of noctus in this regard. Darkspace has always sounded way more repetitive and felt more like a one trick pony whereas paysage has some straight up ambient tracks, more interesting use of synths, acoustic guitars and violin here and there

Both bands rule, but Darkspace riffs harder and Paysage creates more dense atmospheres, imo.

Darkspace is definitely more repetitive, on average.

And I'm with park, love em both but after this album, Paysage pulled ahead.

"Both bands rule, but Darkspace riffs harder" it's pretty close after this bad boy.

Thx for the kind words everyone!

I feel this is the one record with which Wintherr created a perfect mix of both Darkspace and Paysage. Eg these synths happening during the 4th minute of "Im Wald" would have been something he could have included in a Darkspace tune.

It's got the atmosphere PdH always had, and now it's got riffs. Best of both worlds.
