I found the back half of this wayyyy better than the front.

The album's a smidge over-produced, but I'm fuckin loving it. Idk maybe it's just so good hearing Chester's voice again. Sometimes has always been my fav Grey Daze track and I love hearing a version of it that's not demo quality

Great review man, i agree with everything you say!
God i’m in two minds with this. Part of me hates it because I love the original mixes, they weren't polished but that was the point: Raw and uneasiness.
On the other hand, i’m happy that awareness has now been spread of these songs, because lyrically they are still great and hopefully encourages a new fanbase to look back on grey daze’s old stuff

I can't help but agree with every aspect of this review to be honest. Top tier write up Simon.

yeah, i can't say i'll ever revisit this again. depressing really, because chester has a special place in my heart, but this doesn't put him in a great light imo

Yeah having listened a few more times, it’s fairly mediocre. Dead by Sunrise was awesome though. And B12 is fantastic, definitely the highlight of the album.

man B12 is just really really bad
I admire the sentiment behind this album but there's so many weird choices going on here. why choose the songs that have been re-recorded like three different times already? give the same treatment to some outtakes from the first two albums, I'm sure fans would be more responsive to that?

I liked the opener, you can definitely tell one of Chester's earliest vocal inspirations was Layne Staley.

Well shit, I think it’s by far the best song here lol.

Wish they just reissued No Sun Today because that album is very good. This sounds really overproduced.
