I would listen to the Bends before I listened to those two albums.

And I also thought Thom would be nothing without the rest of his band mates as well, I just might pick it up to see if it is as good.

maybe I just need to give them another chance, because I only listened to them once each. I wasn't impressed with one listen though.

you're damn right you have to give them another chance... hoe!

As this begins to collect dust on my shelf...
Seriously, this album put me to sleep. I couldn't stand any of the tracks except for, "And It Rained All Night." No offense to all of the Radio-heads out there *bricked*, but I would readily and gladly take HttT or The Bends over The Eraser any day.

Good review, it was a nice sum-up of the album: innovative and classy. Just not to everyone's tastes. This Message Edited On 07.14.06

I just can't get into Radiohead at all. So much praise is heaped upon them; I expected a lot more. The same goes for Tool.

You make me sad.

As for this album, I think I'll wait till I can finally find Hail to the Thief before I get this. It saddens me to see the Radiohead ideal dying this way.

I've been listening to the album for quite some time and it sounds similar to Kid A. The electronic bleeps and intense drum machine effects are fun to listen to, but some of these songs just drag on way to long and I've never really been a big fan of Yorke's voice. It's definitely a good album and I enjoy it but it gets tiresome at points.

Maybe you should give it another week to listen to it. Its kinda to determine if an album truly is bad in such a small amount of time. I'm not saying its impossible, its just kinda hard to tell.

Well, you're right about not judging an album too soon, and I'm not really saying it's bad, but I personally just really don't have a good feeling about the music. Listened to it nearly all week before now, trying to let it grow on me (so far only the drumming has made a dent.) I'll give it another week or so, but for now it's nothing too special in my eyes. Sorry if I came on sounding like I was pegging it as bad in the whole shpeil of things.

Yes, I said shpeil, I ran out of words to use. :P

While it's true songs do drag on for a while, the vocal work by Yorke is great, particularly at random points, such as atoms for Peace or The Eraser.

I've listened to the album only two or three times through, and I like Atoms for peace and The Eraser, as well as Black Swan possibly the most, but it could change. I think I liked And it rained all night quite a bit too.

Can we all agree that Skip Divided is a weak track though? Easily the weakest for me, I just found it pretty boring. This Message Edited On 07.17.06

I find 'The Clock' to be the weakest track on here. Either that or 'Black Swan'.

That was a great review but I think it deserved at least a 4.5.

Agreed, I think that Analyse is easily the best track on this.

It's like someone ripped the guts out of Radiohead and filled the rotten corpse up with esoteric, repetative nonsense.

As of now this is a fairly decent album. It'll probably be a grower.

The first track is great.
