Always one of my favorite bands. After the release of this album, we drove four hours to see them in concert at the Salt Palace. Over 25 years later, I was working Security at the Luxor in Vegas, volunteered to watch their equipment on stage during the day, ended up hanging out for a few hours with them due to a photo shoot their manager had set up. Incredibly, they remembered that show in Salt Lake City yoo. Tommy & JY signed a momento for me, got a handful of guitar picks, and took my date to their show later that evening. Surreal indeed!

Nice review, pal. It's always a pleasure to see a review of this band, mainly about one of their best albums, if not the best.

"Of course, if you only want their very best, then just listen to Crystal Ball, this, Pieces of Eight, Cornerstone, and Paradise Theater and then call it a day"

I know all those albums, except "Paradise Theater", and all are great, really.

Back in 82, I would go to my father's softball games and it was albums such as this that he and his goons were listening to......I was 6.

Great memories and obviously heavy nostalgia for me

I gave the first 5 tracks a spin the other day and found it to be pretty much unlistenable. I don't get all the love - unless you came of age with it I would understand.

I didn't grow up with Styx but I love them. I think it's just a preference. I don't mind overly theatrical/cheesy if it's fun and catchy too.

Two of the best for sure. Gotta love all those crazy time signature changes on Fooling Yourself
