I had to go to church after reading this review.

yea so this sucks

Review it anyway SuperCool. 2 reviews is cool as long as they're different takes imo. Still need to jam this but I feel like I'll dig it
|

Didnt know they had a new album out, might listen out of interest but not expecting much. They kinda fell off after Sadness Will Prevail.

Sadness/Willpower > Temple > ST > Supernova > Eyes of God > Pain > Animal Mother > This > Axis > Pig
Aight that’s my take

Righto, dropped the ultra-cringe intro. Those that want to dig it back up need only jump back a page.

every time i see someone commented on this, i'm immediately scared that someone's posting a suicide note. then i realize it isn't a list
"today is the day -- no good to anyone"

They’re already recording a new album hell yeah

lol The first sentence to this revised review is a still a fucking doozy. All in all, the review is pretty hot.
Very disappointed that Steve keeps getting worse with such a stacked back catalogue of great music, though.

He’s an old man now, really he needs to put out like a country album or something

the first 6 today is the day albums are all solid 5 star ratings, so it's been a little bit difficult since sadness will prevail to hear it not be perfect. but this was far from a bad album. and the talent is still there. not sure how you thought it was that bad? lots of cookie cutter bands out there and this band always sounds different. i hope you haven't given any good reviews to mall core shit lmao.

lol people still typed 'mallcore' in 2020?
review reads like open mic night tbh. as far as NGTA goes all you've said is 'the lyrics are dumb, the songs are too short but the structures also suck, and i fuck my fist to godflesh.' the bit about nightingale was a more informative assessment
album grew on me buuut it isn't particularly what i wanted going into a today is the day album

Haha this review certainly deserves criticism, cheers for the feedback. Wasn't my finest or most earnest moment.
I just can't shake the feeling that this album feels like a patchwork collection of demos. Have since listened to the early albums and they're great

Only thing heinous about this review is the insinuation that there's anything salvageable about The Nightingale
Stay beautiful, Milo, you mollyfied slut

I do not remember giving this a 3.5

i got some solid chuckles tho, i'm just picturing a band member reading this or someone putting it on their wiki page lol
i thiink them being my last concert(and this being the last cd i've bought at a show) made me a bit biased, it's not their best album but i do respect the sincerity. wouldn't be my intro recommendation though for sure

The mise en scene was beautiful porc, well worth the price of admission if you ignore the haphazard plotting and the historically accurate but probably egregiously presented sexual assaults
Chuckles were the aim bat, glad we can meet in the middle. Agreed about a band member finding this or smth though, it's a far cry from professional (or reasonable haha) but hopefully they'd click that it's meant to be in good fun

im still fucking mad they had to cancel the tour the exact day i was supposed to see them

This is easily my least favorite album in their discography but I still don't think it's bad. That said I don't really know what to rate it either. Kind of a bummer considering Animal Mother is my favorite of their later material. I definitely prefer it over Pain and Axis. Might even prefer it over Kiss the Pig these days too and that's really saying something considering how much I love that album
