" hear elements of their music in modern bands like Hallas"
damn manosg now that you mention it, this is on point, failed to hear it at the beginning of the year when I first heard this album, but pieces are falling in place now that I'm revisiting.
The falsettos on Bird of Prey still make me chuckle though haha

Glad to see you taking notice, Dewi. During the last few years, I've heard Uriah Heep elements in so many modern bands, that it's surprising actually.

discog walk; started with their debut album "Very Eavy, Very Humble"(no review) , know them, heard them a bit but never actually dig a full album. Time to change that, debut is very good, vocal is not on the level of the exceptionally good musicians. Really impressive rock prog band. It is a shame that rock radio stations of the 70-80s didn't play them more often. Definitively deserved more exposure.

old school sput right here, when I first came on about 8-9 years ago this was all the talk, this , Lucifer's friend Banquet, and others
|
| |
well if you eliminate 9 years worth of music yeah this would gain some relevance I guess haha
I haven't checked the new one yet but doing a bit of a discog run these days and their old material has aged very nicely.

Agreed guys, their old material still sounds really fresh and their last two albums are surprisingly solid.

Interesting quote from Rock: The Rough Guide, 2nd Ed., pg. 1048: " [early] Heep's organ-dominated, bluesy sound had quite enough of it's own character to mark the band out, and it wasn't long before the Heep influences were being displayed by European bands like Golden Earring, Scorpions, and Titanic. Indeed, some would say it still lingers on the British metal scene."
