I don't see you enjoying these guys park, but I could be wrong.
They are no Prong for sure.

Oceansize/Porcupine Tree school of Brit '00s prog with fewer nerdouts and more gorgeous vocal harmonies
|

What Johnny said, a bit of modern day Anathema too, or even The Gathering.

Anathematic
Pineapple thievery

Very excited to check this! Checked out the singles after seeing you hype it on the Weekly Release thread. Great review as alwyas!
|

Idk, I liked the first single, and I like all of pt, Oceansize and anathema, but I didn't really dig this after first listen. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

Definitely feel the comparisons already mentioned in this thread but much like those I can't quite get behind it... Lots of good individual moments
|
| |
Thanks dmathias!
And yeah, all comparisons with Anathema, Porcupine Tree, etc are fair but they have always done their own thing so there's the chance you like those bands but not PRR.
Give it time though, it's a slow burn.
|
| |
Also for people new to this band, I'd recommend checking The Dark Third first.

Good review, I am eager to listen to this album. But one thing, you switch Jon Courtney's gender multiple times in the review? Or am I just dumb?
