Just finished my first listen and honestly the Disney-ish quality is almost a positive for me lol. I'm a big musical theatre guy and love the troubadour style, so this is so up my alley. In all honesty, if I had been told this was the Cast Recording of a musical I think I would have believed that.
Safe to say I'm loving it and diving back in!

Good review btw - after reading I have no doubt there are hidden depths here which I didn't get on my three listens

Much appreciated for your kindness, my man. if you're up to trying it again you're certainly welcome to, but if it's not your cuppa joe, then it's just not your cuppa joe.

Yeah absolutely love this. Might be a pre-emptive 4.5 after two listens, but this seems almost tailor made for me, so it's hard to resist

I listened to it a lot before writing this and it seemed to settle, for what it's worth. At times fun, ominous, sweet, and saddening.

This is way too theater-like for me but I definitely get why someone would love this
