Good write-up. While I was listening, I didn't even notice it was missing choruses, but sure as shit, there they aren't.

Hello Bud,
Amazing review of UMLA ! As a french rapper enthusiast, I agree that I’ve never heard of Alpha before some feats with the leaders but when you dig in holly mother, this homie punches hard and clear. Thanks for sharing with us your knowledge and your english choix des mots pesed a lot !
Force à toi and keep going

Although they're good, I don't think lyrics are the main highlight of this album. To be fair I don't tend to often check out lyrics beyond what passively sifts through, whether in English, French or other languages. It comes second to the sheer listening experience in the way I approach music. It's interesting however to think about how French sounds to people who do not speak it, for it is phonetically different from English. I would think most French speakers who listen to English language music, rap/hip-hop included , do not really pay attention to slash understand slash know what is being said, thus English is only perceived through its phonetics and not the meaning behind words. A non French speaker listening to UMLA switches this around, and that's kinda cool.
Anyway, I ramble

I second that Bedex comment: I first loved English-speaking rap because of the phonetics and delivery, not because of the deeper meaning in the lyrics. I learned to appreciate that aspect as well, but it's never the first thing I look for in an artist. Example: Denzel Curry, the dude can talk about the silliest shit and I'll still be pumped by the way he throws the bars.
Still, when an artist is musically interesting enough for me to go check his lyrics, and those lyrics match what I'm looking for, then we're at the fucking top, like Fall of Efrafa
