Definitely a unique story, not often you see obscure, broken-up 90s BDM bands coming back together and making some good material.

Yep, and except for the vocalist, the line-up remained the same. This is quite something.

"Their sound is modern, but retro simultaneously." Yeah, I'd say retro sounding with modern/ genrebending melodies.
"The band has forged its own BDM style, with strong expansion potential. In the next album they will be able to harden their sound and release something heavier (without losing their identity), or launch something even more atmospheric/progressive." True...they're set up to go and do what they want fs.

Not only all that, but how many bands reform to make something so unique?

Great review. Loved this album. They pack a lot of stuff in the 35-minute play time. Not merely brutal DM, but really interesting proggy segments as well.

@THISISMYWAR the vocals are one of a kind character and anyone have to get used to them....its easier to digest them if you got comfortable enough with Artificial Brain already f.e., since they take the band's name concept to the end X)
Also, what Dew said on prev page - "Those growls man, they sound like an alien creature from outer space." - help as well m/

It's the combination of the two that sets them apart from the pack.

There are definitely shoegaze vibes here, like the title track. Those 2 songs are also among my favorites, along with Black Hole Kaleidoscope and Never Ending Teeth.

I was avoiding triple posting to mention Black Hole Kaleidoscope is something else beyond sfw DM, def there's some post-hardcore vibes there, almost ATDI....but hey...we're locked...maybe we're delusional...
the secret I must tell is that whenever I put this on I have to put it again...often

"post-hardcore", "ATDI"...damn, isolation is making you orbit elitist styles mate, but if you really want to enter a new psychedelic level you have to jam the new Oranssi Pazuzu track. Awesome.
He's probably jamming some Canadian tech.
