"My first experience with this band but this is some really solid and varied stuff. Was also surprised how accessible it is despite being quite proggy sometimes."

It was also my first full experience, previously I'd only heard a couple of songs. The album is very accessible without being cheesy. It' s a result of the band's experience and inspiration nowadays.

I don't like the previous album either D. The guys are much more effective in this less prog formula.

Listening to PAZUZU in honor of Max von Sydow.

Yeah, their more straightforward songs are more enjoyable. The run from t/t to Isa is pretty top notch. Also agree with DD about the record being a tad bit too long though

The Spider in the Web and Swan Song have their prog moments.

I've just done the debut. Its good and def preferred for some Straight fw BM old-schooler. Very melodic and with folk leads...kinda redundant for me personally, but do get the job done neatly fs.

It's still hanging on to the '90s, but it must have had its impact back in the day. Seance and Eidolon are my pre-Spectres from the Old World favorites.

Isn't this true for most metal we hear these days, as the 90's were defining for most genres in metal.

I wanted to like this more than I eventually do
