I'm looking really forward to buying this. I haven't heard any samples, but I loved Siren Song, and this is supposed to be similar to it. Plus, Rise Against just plain owns.

this is pretty good but I imagine it being a grower. The album kinda starts off slow but tracks 6-8 rule.
And I don't know if its cool or not that I like "Roadside".
I absolutely cannot stand Rise Against, but this was a solid review anyways. I've listened to two songs off of this (plus the single equals 3 yay for math), and I still think its just bad.
Have you heard the song "Black Masks and Gasoline." I don't think anybody can deny how sick that song is.

I don't know how Rise Against got this big. I mean, if people like that sound there are lots of other/better bands that sound like them. I am not calling them bad but they aren't all that great. I don't see much musicianship in their music, and frankly don't think their singer can sing.

Oohh no wonder you don't like Rise Against. You need to listen to Revolutions Per Minute and Unraveling.

It's very cool.
Okay I don't know what else to do. I can't post in the forums and my journal entry did not come up on the front page so could someone please go look at it.

This really is awesome. As you have said, their older punk/hxc roots and the more present catchier styles have combined well. I need to get more used to this, but I see it becoming my favorite Rise Against record soon.

It is cool to like Roadside.
I'm still moist in the pants about this album.

Moist in the pants, eh? They don't call you "The Sludge" for nothing I presume...

WOW NUTTY BAR THAT WAS HORRIFFIC

i am going to kill myself

I like one rise against song. "Give It All" because it is the only one in lin with heir namesake. Most of their songs have a pseudo-deep feel that is akin to emo bands. However, exellent review.

i agree with the review about which are the stronger tracks. though i must add that injection and the good left undone are also strong tracks in my opinion. i like siren song better, and i've heard part of RPM... so i guess i need to go further back with unraveling

and unlike RPM there are no filler tracks Well RPM didn't necissarly have any filler tracks, just basically 2 out of place minute and a half hardcore songs.
Haha, I'm moist in the pants, I forgot about that.

That cover was bitchin'. I mean Tim's voice hit the notes perfectly. And the music didnt take too much far from the origional.
I can see myself cuddling to this cd. It makes me feel that damn good.

i just saw the video for ready to fall on youtube... and wondered why it was rated too harsh for t.v.? honestly i've seen worse happen in cartoons

tim's voice is so good on this album. Along with everything else.
One thing that bugs me, though, is when people compare Roadside and Swing Life Away. Although I can see why they'd say that, because they're kind of out of character with the rest of the album from being slow or acoustic or whatever, they're totally different songs.
I mean, Sing Life Away is a happy song and Roadside is over in the moody, almost depressed realm.

not too different from Siren Song but still a savage album. Roadside and The Approaching Curve were pleasant surprises. seems like the lyrics are more inspired on this album than past releases. Rad album overall, 4.5 from me
