Great review but the rating is ridiculuous! 'Stripped' is the best commercial pop record of the decade. It shits all over 'Loose' and 'Hard Candy'. And better not mention any 'Circus' or 'I Am... Sasha Fierce'.

I definitely think the rating is justified. As a complete album, this isn't much better than average. I'm surprised you like Stripped so much more than Back to Basics because the massive consensus is that Aguilera made a herculean step forward.

As for best commercial pop record of the decade, I'd have to think it over but I know it's not Stripped. FutureSex/LoveSounds makes a far stronger case.

I also point out in one of my comments that this falls somewhere between 2.5 and 3, so don't look at it as a 50% grade or something.

PS it's great to have another pop fan around here

Sorry Amanda but i have to disagree with you here,Because while their are many faults with this album(especially the cringe-inducing and just flat-out embarassing sexual posturing as well as the fact that the hip-hop fusion songs are just fun and glamourized filler at best and embrassing s&m pop fluff at worst not to mention the fact that it all comes off as pretentious in the worst way possible.)I overall find this Aguilera's best even with all of it's obvious faults and shameless pandering because when it does hit it hits hard and features some of the best mechanical radio-ready pop songs of the last 13 years(not that that's saying much considering that most pop music nowadays is just vapid, cluttered noise without much thought and only a sly and superficial sense of humour but still...) And whether you think Back To Basics is better or not i,m sure we all here can agree to one thing that it and this album are far better than the moronic junk she releases nowadays or at least i hope.
Well,Excellent review anyways even with our diffrences in opinion. Thanks
