don't mistake me - i love those three albums, too. but vernon is basically mr. falsetto (though that applies mainly to the first two albums, especially For Emma) and lacey constantly either sings/screams outside of his vocal register or just does, like, the low-hum singing, almost talking.
those albums are all 4.5s for me tho, so no hate. but vocal quality is not their strong suit.

yeah but vernon has beautiful falsetto and lacey's screams are confident and powerful. Some of these songs were like "ohhh ummm idk if I should be a singer but here we go, oh whoops, oh oops, er"
