I never cared for this or any of their stuff but man it pains me to hear how shit curry is/has become.

hmm, damn didnt do much for me honestly but GKMC and TPAB are kind of confusing messes that include some of his best and absolute worst songs imo.... and... a lot of super middling shit

i also spent very little time with Damn so who knows how id feel if i got familiar with it

My point being that curry showed huge promise initially and is blowing up much in the same way kendrick did. Though i don’t actually enjoy any of his stuff post 2017. His less lauded stuff is what i wish he would have built off of.

other than that i don't think the guys will ever be quite what they were, this is a melancholy mess half the time they used to be so much more varied and dynamic

Freddie gibbs is great in small doses and madlib was really great 15 years ago. Piñata is better for sure but neither album interested me enough to jam more than a few times

yeah same, i really can't listen to gibbs for extended periods and think both albums would be vastly superior if madlib just stuck to features

The gibbs and madlib collab reminds me of killer mike or just rtj in general. If you don’t listen to rap consistently you probably LOVE the aforementioned or if youre a huge bernie supporter
