I think Cast Down the Heretic is better by a little bit, but Ramses is up there yeah.

A killer album.

This is definatly the best Nile record by far. It's probably just because it was their first and everything after it sounded exactly alike to it.

Shrines and AOTW have alot of variety tbh. This one is just as good as those ones, I like the production on this one especially.
I don't know if they couldve pulled off production this raw on their other albums though, they're all too technical and it would sound like total shit because you wouldn't be able to hear anything, but this one isn't quite as technical as their other releases.

This album would be way better if Dallas was on it, too.

Hmm, his vocals are kinda similar to the guy they had on this one, but Karl's vocals are at their most brutal here for sure.

A friend referred me to Nile and I'm systematically working my way through these albums.
Does anybody have more background on the lyrical content of the songs? I love that this is an Egyptian themed band.

Still need to check this out. My favourite is probably BSoV or AotW.
