Yes, it's their best since For Whose Advantage? however Kin also has its moments, I dig The Order of Chaos and Come Tomorrow

Two first songs in, and I gotta say this is better than I anticipated, also I love the modern production. That said, there are better English thrash metal outfits out there nowadays, Shrapnel and Gama Bomb for example.
As for Metallica, when I saw half of Some Kind of Monster - I didn't watch it in full, because the dosage of stupidity encapsulated therein was just too much - I couldn't believe my ears and eyes, I was asking myself "is this really the band that wrote Master of Puppets?"
Wealth and fame eroded them for sure, also I just cannot see them going through the '90s like they did with Burton alive, also thank you Dave for everything and for starting Megadeth.

I think I've never heard Shrapnel, but Speed Between The Lines is indeed solid.
This album will appeal more to early fans than new listeners, because it manages to recapture the sound of their heyday, it kinda takes you back.

Solid but generic. At least they're back to playing thrash.

one of many solid notrap reviews but unfortunately this does nothing for me
just sounds like Formation and onward era Testament except far less interesting :[

It's not phenomenal, far from it, but it's a solid release. I think the lads have managed to bring back the early spirit of the band, even without Chris Astley.

New album, titled Seven Words, coming out this year
Edit: I seem to be talking to myself around here

I happen to have seen them live couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised they're a really tight outfit still. Let's see if their next studio release will live up to that.

Standard beefy thrash fodder, with more than a few decent riffs. Nothing too revolutionary but it's solid yeah.
