just remove it completely. pandering to your audience like that doesn't actually accomplish anything. You're better off just stating in the review that this album won't change the minds of past detractors, but old fans should appreciate it.

The semicolon seems to be the proper fix. You probably could've gotten away with just putting a comma there too, but I like the semicolon.

I've actually been trying to tone down my use of the semi-colon mostly because I tend to litter them all over my reviews, you are right though it is much better and I could have gone either way.
