It's actually kind of bewildering how textural and dynamic everything is - the sounds are too surreal. You called him a wizard of sorts and thats the first thing that came to my mind too... hes an electronic wizard.

Its early but yeah I think this is my favorite. It's the most refined. Like Foley Room is the most active and 'fun' to actually listen to, but in regards to his growth and innovation I just think he keeps 1 upping himself

Yeah I was most happy with how much looser this sounds compared to all his stuff since the Chaos Theory soundtrack, and it sounds like his most sophisticated too. It’s impressive how he strikes that balance.

Heart of the sun is kind of terrifying

Yea sounds like it’s the auditory version of the intense heat of the sun
What to you think of Velvet Owl? It’s a little long imo but I enjoy it.
|
| |
One question: does this thing have beats
|
| |
amon is da mon
|
| |
Velvet Owl is insane, everything is insane
@bloc no it has absolutely no beats and youd call it boring and be a wet blanket about it so give it a pass

Yeah no beats which I kind of like given how visceral and uncompromising Isam was at times. I don’t know what genre this would even be. Avant-garde ambient? Something like that idk
|
| |
I dunno I'd probably just call it electroacoustic idm
|
| |
Idm is already a vague enough 'genre' this can fit in
|
| |
Ugh, I'll skip then

Only heard Bricolage a single time and didn't really get it. Is this a good place to try this dude again?

anything after bricolage is a good start including this. as much as I like that record, I think it's his least interesting after what he managed to make.
|
| |
Sweet, I'll check him out again tonight maybe
