I wouldn't even say this sucks, I'm just tired of the same output. Like someone mentioned a few comments ago, the only thing I get out of this is a reminder to go listen to the other better versions of this that he's already made.

It's amazing how long it took people on here to realize this dude's been doing a boring as fk kind of generic indie folk
It's not like wild hunt is much better than this lmao

I'm not sure how I feel about this either, gonna have to listen and definitely have to revisit his work. I'm thinking something more of the same might be better than the last album but that remains to be seen. Nicely written work as per usual though my man

Oof...gonna have to listen and judge for myself here. If The Wild Hunt was the only Tallest Man album I ever loved though I would be ok with that.

Not only the best in his discog, but I think The Dreamer might be his best song. I enjoyed the last two for what they were, but never really returned to them. Think I'll have to check this out.

Review made me think i'll love this, hated his last. it was boring and lost what made him special.

"Review made me think i'll love this, hated his last. it was boring and lost what made him special."

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I'm struggling to connect the dots as to why Dark Bird was boring. Even if someone didn't like it, I felt like it was the first real stylistic departure and thus became more interesting than him continuing the same formula on repeat, almost by default. To me, what made him special was that he was doing raw folk music in a way no one else was. That ran its course, now I want to see what else he can do. If he's a one trick pony that's fine, but I don't have to enjoy everything he puts out while the original impact of The Wild Hunt continues to become diluted with every similar sounding album that he produces.

Yep, agreed, Dark Bird was great. I love everything he's done so far, though I'm still figuring out my thoughts on this one.
